Uses of 'Estar'
The verb 'estar' in Spanish has many different uses. For example, we use 'estar' to talk about location, mood, or consequences.

Location
- 'Estar' is used to say where something is.
- ¿Dónde están las llaves?
- Where are the keys?
- Madrid está en España.
- Madrid is in Spain.

Mood
- 'Estar’ describes a physical or emotional state.
- Theo está feliz.
- Theo is happy.
- Estoy bien.
- I am OK.

Consequences
- We use ‘estar’ to say how people or things are now because of what has happened.
- 'Estar' indicates a state resulting from a process/action.
- La puerta está abierta porque la abrí yo.
- The door is open because I opened it.
