  • Electromagnets can be found in:
    • Television sets.
    • Maglev trains.
    • MRI machines.

    • Scrapyard cranes that are able to pick up and move vehicles.
    • Electric bells.

DC motors

  • If an electrical item moves, chances are it has an electric motor.
  • A motor is a coil of wire between two magnets.
  • When the wire is placed between the magnets in their magnetic field it moves.
    • This is called the motor effect.
