Fuel Bills

Your household electricity bill is calculated by how much energy you have used. Meters around your home let you know how much energy you are using.

Meters in your home

Meters in your home

  • Every time an appliance is turned on it uses up energy converting electricity into a useful product.
  • In and around your house or flat, meters will tell you how much energy you are using.
  • Usually, you'll have two meters. One for electricity and one for gas.
  • They will either be dial meters or digital meters.
  • You can inform energy suppliers of your energy reading by typing it in online.
  • Smart meters are now installed in some homes. These help record and control your energy usage.
