Most adjectives go after the noun they describe.

After the noun

J'ai un livre intéressant.
- I have an interesting book.
Ils ont une voiture rapide.
- They have a quick car.

In sentences with verbs

Adjectives can be used in sentences with verbs like 'être' or 'devenir'.
- Elle devient belle.
  - She is becoming beautiful.
- Nous sommes prêts.
  - We are ready.
They are used after 'ce' but they are always singular.
- C'est vieux.
  - It is old.

Before the Noun

The following adjectives go before the noun:

Bon, bonne, bons, bonnes - good

J'ai lu un bon livre.
- I read a good book.
Je connais un bon restaurant.
- I know a good restaurant.

Mauvais, mauvaise - bad

le mauvais temps.
- The bad weather.
La photo est de mauvaise qualité.
- The photo is bad quality.

Jeune - young

Le jeune garçon.
- they young boy.
La jeune fille.
- The young girl.

Vieux, vieil, vieille, - old

Le vieil homme.
- The old man.
Le vieux château.
- The old castle.

Nouveau, nouvel, nouvelle, nouveaux, nouvelles - new

Ma nouvelle voiture.
- My new car.
Le nouveau pull.
- The new jumper.

Beau, bel, belle, beaux, belles - beautiful

Elle a un beau visage.
- She has a beautiful face.
Une belle vue.
- A beautiful view.
