OD & OI Pronouns: Combination
The DO & IO pronouns are used to replace the direct and indirect objects in a sentence, respectively. They can be used simultaneously in the same sentence.


Use
Use
- Direct object pronouns (DO) can replace both people and things.
- They are always used with transitive verbs.
- Indirect object pronouns (IO) can only replace people.


Combination
Combination
- In French, several pronouns can be combined within the same sentence.
- We use the following order of pronoun placement in this case:
- First, IO pronouns: me, te, nous, vous
- Second, DO pronouns: le, la, and les
- Third, IO pronouns: lui and leur

- They are placed between the subject and the verb.
- J'ai envoyé un message à tes parents.
- I have sent a message to your parents.
- Je le leur ai envoyé.
- Yo se lo he enviado.
