Direct Object Pronouns: Le, La, Les, L'
The direct object pronouns le, la, l’ and les are used to replace the direct object (DO) of the 3rd person singular or plural in a sentence.


Singular direct object pronouns

- Le replaces masculine nouns in the singular.
- La replaces feminine nouns in the singular.
- L' replaces feminine or masculine nouns when the word begins with a vowel.

Identification
Identification
- To identify it, we ask the verb 'what?'.
- We distinguish whether it is a masculine, feminine, singular, or plural word.
- We replace the word with the pronoun:
- before the verb
- between ne and pas in negative sentences
