Les Types d'Emploi - Types of Job

When you are talking about jobs in French you do not need 'un' or 'une'. You use 'je veux, je voudrais or j'espère' followed by 'être' to say what you would like to be.

Directeur/directrice de magasin - shop manager

Je veux être directrice de magasin.
- I want to be a shop manager.

Footballeur - footballer

Je voudrais être footballeur.
- I would like to be a footballer.

Infirmier, infirmière - nurse

J'espère devenir infirmière.
- I hope to become a nurse.

Ingénieur - Engineer.

Je veux être ingénieur.
- I want to be a engineer.

Journaliste - journalist

Je voudrais être journaliste.
- I want to be a journalist.

Médecin - doctor

J'espère être médecin.
- I hope to be an doctor.

Professeur, professeure - teacher

Je veux être professeur.
- I want to be a teacher.
