Les Types d'Emploi - Types of Job

When you are talking about jobs in French you do not need 'un' or 'une'. You use 'je veux, je voudrais or j'espère' followed by 'être' to say what you would like to be.

Acteur/actrice - actor/actress

Je veux être actrice.
- I want to be an actress.

Avocat, avocate - lawyer

Je voudrais être avocat.
- I would like to be a lawyer.

Chanteur, chanteuse - singer

J'espère devenir chanteuse.
- I hope to become a singer.

Chauffeur de taxi - taxi driver.

Je veux être chauffeur de taxi.
- I want to be a taxi driver.

Coiffeur, coiffeuse - hairdresser

Je voudrais être coiffeuse.
- I want to be a hairdresser.

Comptable - accountant

J'espère devenir comptable.
- I hope to become an accountant.

Designer de jeux-vidéos - video game designer

Je veux être designer de jeux-vidéos.
- I want to be a video game designer.
