Writing to persuade and writing to argue may seem similar, but there is a clear difference between the two.

Writing to argue
- When you argue, you present both sides, recognise that other views exist, and then carefully weigh up the evidence and show why one side is better than the other.

Writing to persuade
- When you persuade, you give one clear idea and are trying to convince your reader to agree with you.
