Consumers are not always told about the conditions in which their electronics are produced.
Production of devices
- Electronic devices are typically assembled in factories that employ many people.
- These factories are usually based abroad.
- The workers in these factories often work long hours, for low wages.
Consumer choice
- Consumers of these products often do not know about the conditions in which their products are produced.
- Consumers have little or no choice in the matter.
