Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis takes place inside chloroplasts found in plants and algae. The reaction is endothermic (needs energy). The source of this energy is sunlight. This sunlight is trapped by a chemical called chlorophyll inside chloroplasts. Its used to make carbohydrates. Plants and algae are known as producers and form the first level of all food chains.
