Some, Each

'Some' and 'each' are indefinite pronouns. They do NOT change for feminine or masculine, singular or plural. An exception is 'quelque', meaning 'some', which becomes 'quelques' when it's plural.

Chaque - each, every

Chaque - each, every

  • 'Chaque' means 'each' or 'every'.
  • 'Chaque' doesn't change for masculine or feminine, and only for singular nouns.
    • Je vais au gymnase chaque jour.
      • I go to the gym every day.
    • Chaque année, je vais en vacances.
      • Every year, I go on holiday.
Quelque - some, a few

Quelque - some, a few

  • 'Quelque' means 'some' or 'a few'.
  • It adds an 's' when it goes before a plural noun, but it does not change for masculine or feminine.
    • J'ai besoin de quelques minutes.
      • I need a couple of minutes.
    • J'ai acheté quelques gâteaux.
      • I bought some cakes.
