Forming the Plural
Spanish: Edexcel IGCSE, topic 11.3.7
Nouns that End in a Vowel
If a noun ends in a vowel (a, ,e, i, o or u), to form the plural you add an 's' to the end. They can use the definite or indefinite article.

Masculine nouns
- El dormitorio → Los dormitorios.
- The bedroom → The bedrooms.
- Un coche → Unos coches.
- A car → Some cars.

Feminine nouns
- La llave → Las llaves.
- The key → The keys.
- Una silla → Unas sillas.
- A chair → Some chairs.
Nouns that End in a Consonant
To form the plural form of a noun that ends in a consonant, you add 'es' to the end of the noun. If the vowel before the consonant has an accent on it, the noun loses the accent in the plural.

Masculine nouns
- El jamón → Los jamones.
- The ham → The hams.
- Un color → Unos colores.
- A colour → Some colours

Feminine nouns
- La estación → Las estaciones.
- The season → The seasons.
- Una calidad → Unas calidades.
- A quality → Some qualities.
- Una nuez → Unas nuces
- A nut → Some nuts.
