Acoustic Sensors
Computer Science: Cambridge International GCSE, topic 1.3.20
Acoustic Sensors
Acoustic sensors are also known as microphones. Acoustic sensors are used to measure sound waves in the surrounding environment.

Electrical signals
- Acoustic sensors detect and convert acoustic or sound signals into electrical signals.
- The electrical signals are processed and analysed by electronic devices.
- For example, computers.

Applications
- Acoustic sensors have various applications including:
- Voice recognition systems.
- Speech-to-text transcription.
- Telecommunication.
- Audio recording.
- Security systems.
- Hearing aids.
