Adjectives are describing words. In French, adjectives agree with the gender and number of the noun.


Masculine singular nouns
Masculine singular nouns
- When describing a masculine singular noun, you use the basic spelling of the adjective:
- bleu - blue
- vert - green
- noir - black


Feminine singular nouns
Feminine singular nouns
- To create the feminine form, most adjectives add '-e' to the masculine form.
- bleu - blue
- un ballon bleu - a blue ball
- une voiture bleue - a blue car
