If you have a preference over something, you can use this phrase.
No me gusta esta tarta. Prefiero aquella tarta.
- I don’t like this cake. I prefer that cake.

There are various ways to state an opinion in Spanish. For example:
En mi opinión.
- In my opinion.
Desde mi punto de vista.
- From my point of view.
