Angular Work & Power
Physics: AQA A Level, topic 11.1.6
Angular Work and Power
A torque which rotates an object must do work against friction.

Work
- As an object rotates work is done to overcome the resistive frictional forces acting on it.
- The equation for work done is:
- Work = torque x angle turned through

Power
- As work is done to turn an object power is dissipated in the form of heat or sound energy.
- The equation for power is:
- Power = torque x angular velocity
