The Role of Subject Leaders
Subject leaders are best placed to make choices around the substance, form and delivery of their subject.

Empowerment
- Subject leaders must be empowered to undertake the work of the curriculum.
- This includes training subject leaders as well as freeing up time that is necessary to properly contemplate their curriculum.

Deep understanding
- Subject leaders require a deep understanding of the ethos and nature of their subject to make informed decisions for their curriculum.

Confident in articulation
- Subject leaders need to be able to articulate the aims, structure, hierarchies and connections of the curriculum both for ourselves and for others.
