Reconciliation
Religious Studies A: AQA GCSE Religions, topic 2.4.4
Working for Reconciliation
Christians believe it is important to promote peace because the kingdom of God is understood as a kingdom of peace (Romans 14:7).

Prayer and unity
- Christians pray for peace and reconciliation in their religious services.
- They also work to try to unite all Christians so that a United Church can be a better witness around the world.

ARCIC
- The Anglican and Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC) was set up in 1969 to try to promote Christian unity.
- They also work for reconciliation between groups that have been in conflict with each other, such as in the Corrymeela community in Northern Ireland.
- The Corrymeela community now promotes the message of dialogue rather than conflict in many places throughout the world.

Bible - Acts 13:47-48 NIV
- ‘For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honoured the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.’
