How to do Hands-on Activities when Teaching Online?

1
- Identify the key concept from the weekly module.

2
- Use curricula or a reliable outside resource to find a hands-on demonstration of the key concept, or design your own.

3
- Ensure that the demonstration uses only inexpensive everyday household items, ask students to obtain the needed items, or provide the items to students.

4
- Perform the demonstration to make sure it works; record a short (six to ten minute) video of the demonstration for students who are unable to complete it independently.

5
- Write directions and guided notes for the students.
- This means that a student is supposed to be able to read and follow the directions without help.

6
- Assess through the weekly quiz or other regular evaluation.
