Fighting back
- When Claudius invaded Britain, some tribes decided to fight back.
- But the Roman Army was better and almost always won.
- The Romans killed many people from the tribes.
- They also captured the local leaders.

Making peace
- Other tribes decided to be at peace with the Romans.
- These tribes had to follow Roman rules.
- They also had to pay Rome money.

Client rulers
- In return, Rome would let those tribes live in their original land.
- The kings and queens of those tribes were called Client Rulers.
- They stayed as rulers because Rome let them.
