Adjectives are describing words. In French, the endings of adjectives are often different if they are describing something masculine or feminine or if they are describing more than one of a thing.

  • When it is masculine singular, they never change, for feminine singular you normally add an 'e', (.
    • Le film intéressant - the interesting film.
    • La piste intéressante - the interesting track
  • Unless the adjective already has an 'e', in which case masculine and feminine are identical.
    • Le film triste - the sad film.
    • La chanson triste - the sad song.

  • For masculine plural you just add an 's', for feminine plural you add 'es'.
