Organising Words in a Sentence
Your knowledge of syntax (the correct order of word in a sentence) may be tested. You may be asked to swap the positions of two words so that a sentence makes sense.

Example
- I the go to often cinema on a Friday night.

First word
- 'The' has to come before a noun.
- So 'the' must be in the wrong place.

Second word
- Often is an adverb. Adverbs usually come before or after the verb they're describing. Often also sounds odd in the sentence.
- So 'often' must also be in the wrong place.

Answer
- I the go to often cinema on a Friday night.
- Incorrect
- I often go to the cinema on a Friday night.
