Appropriate Word Choice
Often, you will be asked to complete a sentence by selecting the most appropriate word from two sets of brackets.

Example
- The hungry (cat, child, dog) screamed in delight as he was given an (elephant, ice-cream, atlas).

First word
- Cats and dogs don't scream.
- Children do scream. So the answer must be child.

Second word
- The child is hungry, so the child won't be given an elephant or an atlas.
- The second answer must be ice-cream.

The answer
- The hungry (cat, child, dog) screamed in delight as he was given an (elephant, ice-cream, atlas).
