Complete the Set - Rotation and Shading

In 'complete the set' questions, you will have to look at a sequence, identify the pattern and work out which image would come next. In this section, we will look at rotation patterns.

Check for shading patterns

Have a look at this sequence of four images and think about what shading patterns you can see.

1st pattern - shading

Rule out answer

D is the only one that doesn't fit the shading pattern we have identified.
We now need to look for a second pattern that will help us work out which of A, B or C is correct.

2nd pattern - rotation

Identify the correct answer

A, B and C all matched the shading pattern of having black shapes in the top left and bottom right.
C is the only one that also has a triangle in the expected position of bottom right.
