Present Subjunctive IR Verbs
The process for forming the present subjunctive with IR verbs is shown below using 'finir' (to finish):
1) Take the present tense 'ils' form
- Finissent
2) Remove the ending
- Finissent → finiss
3) Add subjunctive endings
- Je finisse - I finish.
- Tu finisses - you finish.
- Il/elle/on finisse - he/she/one finish.
- Nous finissions - we finish.
- Vous finissiez - you finish.
- Ils/elles finissent - they finish.
