  • "Mille" is always singular, which means that it never takes a final '-s.'
    • 1000 - mille.
    • 2000 - deux mille.
    • 3000 - trois mille.
    • 2021 - deux mille vingt et un.
Hundred - Cent

Hundred - Cent

  • "Cent" becomes plural only with round numbers.
    • Deux cents (200); trois cents (300); quatre cents (400).
  • In all the other cases, "cent" remains invariable.
    • Deux cent trois (203); trois cent cinq (305); quatre cent cinquante-six (456).
The date

The date

  • [ day - day number - month - year ] is the most common format to say the date ("la date)" in French.
    • Lundi 8 novembre 2021 [lundi huit novembre deux mille vingt et un]
  • "1er" ("le premier)" is only used for the first of the month.
    • C' est le premier avril → It is the first of April.
