Multiple Choice - Introduction

Multiple Choice Comprehension

In a multiple choice comprehension, you will be asked to read something and answer questions about what you have read. You will be given four options per question, and you must select the correct answer.

Example short extract

Kieron walked briskly towards the warm, orange glow of the distant windows. Though darkness always fell early in these parts, it had still taken him by surprise and he shivered as he pulled his jacket a little more tightly across his chest.

Example question

How is Kieron feeling in this extract?
- Excited
- Despondent
- Cold
- Warm

Answering the question

We know that Kieron is not feeling warm because he ‘shivered’ and then ‘pulled his jacket… across his chest’.
Both of these actions suggest that Kieron is cold.
- So the answer is 'cold'.
