It started at university, with a frustration most of us share: we spend hours revising in ways that simply don't work. Reading notes over and over feels productive, but the words soon wash over you.

So in 2017 we set out to fix it. We built Seneca around what neuroscience actually tells us about how memory works. Then we put it to the test.

In a 1,120-student randomised control trial, students using Seneca scored 105% higher than those revising the traditional way. The evidence was clear: it works.

Soon it wasn't just students. Teachers started setting Seneca for homework that marks itself, winning back hours once lost to marking and seeing at a glance exactly where a class was struggling. And parents, so often left guessing, could finally follow how their child was really doing, and how to help.

From a simple tool for a handful of students, we've grown into one of the UK's most-used learning platforms, relied on by millions of students, hundreds of thousands of teachers, and the families behind them. Now we're bringing that same proven approach to learners around the world.

Through it all, our mission hasn't changed since day one, and it never will.
