# Complete the Grid - Rotation Example

11+ Non-Verbal Reasoning, topic 2.2.1

## Rotation

In order to complete rotation questions, you will need to make sure that you know the difference between clockwise movements and anti-clockwise movements.

### Question

- Does shape A, B, C or D complete the grid?

### Find the rotation for the first line

- The rotation used to make the sequence in the first line of the grid will help us find the missing image.

### 90° clockwise rotation

- Rotate the first image in the sequence in order to find the next image.

### 180° clockwise rotation

### 270° clockwise rotation

### Find the pattern for the first line

### Confirm the rotation for the third line

- We need to find the pattern in the third line and confirm that it is the same as the pattern in the first line.

### 90° clockwise rotation

- Continue as before, rotating the first image of the line in order to find the next image.

### 180° clockwise rotation

### Confirm the pattern for the third line

### Apply the pattern to the second line

- Now we are sure of the pattern, we can use it to find the missing image in the grid.

### 180° clockwise rotation

- Rotate the middle shape by 180° to find the missing shape.

- Shape D is the missing shape in the grid as it is a 180° rotation of the middle shape.
